Compliance and Privacy at Stellar Health
At Stellar Health, we’re committed to doing the right thing, all the time, even when it’s hard. Our mission to improve the quality of care and affordability of healthcare for millions of patients requires us to act with integrity in every decision, interaction, and transaction.
Stellar Health has implemented an effective compliance program aligned with the federal sentencing commission recommendations:
Our Chief Compliance Officer serves as a senior leader in the organization and meets at a regular cadence with our Board of Directors, including our Compliance and Privacy Committee.
At Stellar Health, we use Policies, including our Standards of Conduct, to ensure we conduct our business in accordance with our values, established company processes, and all contractual, legal and regulatory requirements. Policies are required to be reviewed by team members at new hire and no less than annually thereafter.
All teammates are required to complete training covering our compliance and privacy policies and standards of conduct. Training is completed at time of hire and no less than annually thereafter.
The Compliance Program includes mechanisms for detect non-compliance, misconduct or actions that violate the program. A work plan with identified auditing and monitoring activities is implemented annually based on a risk assessment, as well as other data inputs.
The Compliance team is readily available to all team members. We also provide an independent hotline that has the option for anonymity at www.stellar.health/better or by phone at 866.461.9330.
Upon detection of a potential compliance violation or issue, Stellar Health will take appropriate investigative steps to determine the scope of the problem and next steps. Also, all forms of retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith using our reporting systems, participates in an investigation or audit or reports an issue to a regulatory body are strictly prohibited.
The compliance program has mechanisms for recognizing and rewarding team members for compliant and ethical behavior. When necessary Stellar Health will take disciplinary action, in accordance with our disciplinary standards, for violations of policy or when an individual engages in misconduct.
